Stevenage Arts Society (formerly known as Artists' Co-operative) is an active amateur Art Society with Members meeting every weekday. The society has its own art studio and pottery in its headquarters at Springfield House in Stevenage.
The Artists' Co-operative was conceived by a group of Stevenage painters and born in 1968 with the stated aim of "Fostering the Arts in Stevenage". A totally amateur, non-political and democratic organization, the Society is now a limited company and is run by an executive committee which is elected each year at the annual general meeting.
Membership of the Society is open to anyone interested in participating in our creative activities. The annual subscription is £30 and anyone attending weekly sessions is asked for a small fee of £2 at each attendance (£5 for glass fusing). Members are kept fully informed of the full programme of Events and Activities organised throughout the year.
