We are pleased to say that we will be holding more pottery workshops in October and November 2025.
You don’t have to be a member of the Society to come along to the monthly workshops – they are open to everyone over 18.
Each workshop is 2 1/2 hours long and are held on a Saturday and a Sunday from 9.30 - 12 and 1.30 - 4pm each day (unless otherwise stated)
The workshops are aimed at beginners and those with some experience who would like a refresher on how to use the tools, glazes etc. You will learn how to hand mould the clay into the desired shape using cutters and tools which are provided.
Your work will be partly dried and you will then use underglaze from a choice of colours to glaze your pieces. After the session when your work is completely dry we will put a transparent glaze on top and fire your work.We will contact you when your work is ready for collection, this will usually be about 4 weeks after the workshop to allow for drying and firing time.
The charge is £30.00 for each place. Please note - the cost of the workshop is non-refundable. If you are unable to come to the workshop your money will be held over for you to come to another workshop. Please contact us on [email protected] to book your place. Remember to state which session you would like to come to.
The clay, glazing, tools and kiln firing are included in the cost. Also, aprons will be provided to hopefully keep your clothing clean – remember clay is mucky so don’t wear your best outfit!! Tea, coffee (including decaf) and biscuits will be provided – if you require anything specific could you please bring it with you?
As there are only 6 places at each workshop early booking is essential, your place will not be secure until you have paid by bank transfer.
